Kreviazuk claimed that the song "Contagious" was based on a track she had sent to Lavigne in 2005. On July 6, 2007, Lavigne denied the accusation in an open letter on her website. She also threatened legal action against Kreviazuk for her allegations, and Kreviazuk ultimately made a full public apology and retracted the statements.
