Undergraduate Degrees

Since 2003, Texas A&M University has offered Bachelor of Science degrees in chemical, electrical, mechanical and petroleum engineering at Qatar Foundation’s Education City campus. These degrees are administered by the Dwight Look College of Engineering at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.

Graduate Degrees

Texas A&M at Qatar offers masters degrees in chemical engineering. Current degree offerings include a Master of Science (M.S.), which is recommended for individuals planning to work in a research setting, and a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), which is suitable for applicants who plan to pursue a non-technical or managerial position in their place of employment.

Research Capabilities

The University's facilities and experimental resources are extensive. For example, the University has a sophisticated computer numerical controlled (CNC) 5-axis machine, coupled with a titanium 3D printer and a port plastic maker (PPM) which provides Texas A&M at Qatar the capability of making 3D dimensional models and components.

The University emphasizes integration of research, student involvement, and dissemination of knowledge promoted by local workshops and seminars, and by the active participation of both faculty and students through publications in and the attendance at international conferences.

Undergraduate Admissions

Texas A&M University at Qatar follows the same admissions standards in place at the home campus in College Station, Texas.

Athletics

Texas A&M at Qatar offers basketball and soccer for men and women. In the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons, the men's basketball team had a perfect record. As of the 2011-2012 season, only 3 players from that historic 2008-2009 perfect season run remain: Abdulrahman al-Kuwari, Mazz Ali and Ahmed Hassaan.

Texas A&M Engineering Building

The father-son Mexican architect team Legoretta+Legoretta designed the Texas A&M Engineering Building. Construction of the building took one year and 10 months to complete and cost $150 million USD. The Texas A&M Engineering Building is more than 55,000 sq. meters or 595,000 sq. feet. It consists of two distinct parts, a research and an academic wing.
