History
Terrebonne Parish was formed in 1822 from part of
Lafourche Parish. The name "Terrebonne" means "good land" in
French.
Geography
The parish has a total area of 5,387 kmē . 3,250 kmē of it is land and 2,137 kmē of it is water.

censusē of 2000, there were 104,503 people, 35,997 households, and 27,393 families residing in the parish. The
