He is the fourth child of Sultan Ahmad Shah and Tengku Ampuan Afzan. His eldest sibling is Tengku Meriam. He is a son of Sultan Ahmad Shah. His daughters Iman Abdullah age 17, Ilisha Abdullah age 16,Tengku Hassanal age 15 (who currently is his heir as Tengku Mahkota Pahang), Ilyana Abdullah age 13 and sons Tengku Muhammad (Addin) age 13, are currently studying in England. His other children are Tengku Afzan and Tengku Ahmad age 10 (twins), Tengku Jihan age 9.
