Talisay, a 4th class municipality (25M to 35M Annual Average Income; based on Dep't of Finance Order No. 23-08,
July 29, 2008, www.nscb.gov.ph) is the smallest town in the Province of Camarines Norte. It has a total land area of 3,076 hectares which is only 10 meters above sea-level. The town, which was named after the big trees that abound in its Poblacion is home to around 21,509 people; of which, mostly are farmers. The fertile soil, gentle topography and suitable climate are the main reasons why agriculture is the economic backbone of the town. Rice and coconut farming are the major agricultural activities for most of the barangays and fishing is the second thriving industry particularly in the coastal barangays.

Talisay is known for its gentle and peace-loving people. Another distinctive feature of Talisayons is their deep concern for education. A family no matter how poor sends their children to school. Talisay has a very long list of successful professionals in various fields such as medicine, law, engineering, architecture, education, law enforcement and military service, banking, business, sports, entertainment, and many more. The incumbent mayor is the Honorable Mayor Ronnie Magana.
