In 1985 this house was almost lost to the advancement of Athens and was transported 60 miles to Stone Mountain
Park to be a part of their history village as no one in Athens at the time could save it. Because of a lack of funding, the house was never restored and sat under plastic at the park for 20 years rotting. With the help of The Watson Brown Foundation, in 2005, it was transported back to Athens and restored. The house also has gardens planted with historical plants. The house is now located at 175 Hill Street in Cobbham historic district.
