. It features the same six races as the original game along with a new enemy, the Suul'ka.
A November 8 review on Game Informer
summarized the game as "A Total Disaster", explaining that "This might be a decent game after six more months of twice-weekly patching. Right now, it’s a failure on every level."
In response to the catastrophic launch, Kerberos has offered customers the option to get a refund. Regardless, everyone also received a free key for the original game (Sword of the Stars). All the people subscribed to the Paradox Interactive newsletter have also received such a key (even without having bought SotS 2). It is currently not known if this is an error or intended.

After an initial catastrophic launch, Kerberos and Paradox interactive admitted that it was release or die. They are working on patching, but it is surmised a lot of patching will have to be done.A November 8 review on Game Informer
