s the activities of the Swedish government. All government agencies are required to submit copies of their annual accounts and reports to this office for review.

National Audit is part of the parliamentary control of power. National Audit mission is to examine the governmental activities and thereby to contribute to good resources and effective management of the State.

The Authority is led by three national auditors after consultation with each other decide what to review. National Audit has a board that provides draft budget for the authority and decides on the reviews that Parliament should take a stand.

National Audit started on 1 July 2003 and took over the state audit responsibility from the precursors Parliamentary Auditors and the National Audit Office.
