History

Sardar Charat Singh (d.1772) was the eldest son of Sardar Naudh Singh, the father of Maha Singh, and the grandfather of Ranjit Singh.

He distinguished himself at an early age in campaigns against Ahmad Shah Abdali and split from the Singhpuria Misl to establish The Sukerchakia Misl in Gujranwala

under his control. The came Sardar Mahan Singh (d.1792) who also expanded the Misl further.

The Misl ruled from (1752-1801) when Ranjit Singh was crowned the Emperor of Lahore in the following years he decided to establish a United Sikh Raj in which from (1801-1815) he led his army in conquering the 12 Sikh Misls in Punjab to unite them to create a united state.
