Politics/Elections

In September 2008 after conflict between Mayor McClure and the City Council, the Mayor resigned and was replaced by Councilor Patricia Shadoin-Ford who served as Acting Mayor. Mayor Shadoin-Ford was subsequently reelected.

In April 2011 Strasburg voters approved a 1% sales tax increase by a vote of 22-17. The tax is to be used for street and sidewalk maintenance.
