His 2002 victory was significant as he had only been able to devote himself to gymnastics on a part-time basis, owing to limited funding for the sport in Scotland at that time.And as such,he was not identified as a possible medallist.
Steve Frew is a member of the Athletes Commission for Scotland,and as a member of the Glasgow 2014 Bid team,he travelled to Colombo, Sri Lanka to secure the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Frew has also appeared as a competitor on television in the BBC Three
series Hercules, and was a member of the team representing Glasgow
