St Loye's Foundation is a leading disability and training charity with its operational base in Exeter in the South West of England. It delivers training and qualifications Nationally in IT, Computer Aided Design, Customer Care, Business Skills, Horticulture, Hospitality & Catering, Health & Social Care and Engineering amongst others.

The Foundation uses a unique client focused model to deliver its services with each individual being allocated a dedicated Case Manager to ensure continuity of care through qualification and into subsequent employment.

The Foundation provides training in IT Skills, Business Skills, Health & Social Care, Computer Aided Design, Engineering, Customer Care, Hospitality & Catering, Health and Safety in the workplace and Horticultural services.

Awards

In 2009 St Loye's Foundation was awarded the Third Sector Award for best Financial Management following its restructure and relocation.

Since 2009 St Loye's Foundation has been a Microsoft certified IT Academy.

History

The Foundation was started in 1937 by a powerful and charismatic Devon woman, Dame Georgiana Buller

following a fall from her horse resulting in a severe injury to her spine, which made her realise how difficult life was for people with disabilities, particularly if they were unable to work and support themselves.

Generous donations and the purchase of Fairfield House enabled the Foundation to move there in 1942 where St Loye's Foundation remained until the charity's relocation in 2008 to Brittany House in the centre of Exeter.

St Loye's Foundation has changed drastically since those times and thousands have come through our doors and successfully trained for open employment.

The Foundations Patron is Her Majesty The Queen, who has visited on several occasions.
