Spoken For, on the other hand, is a cohesive 11-track album of all new songs. It feels new and fresh with stronger songwriting than that found on Almost There. Lead singer Bart Millard noted that MercyMe's earliest goal on Spoken For was to create songs that were "singable", as well as to "[make] sure they fit on power point because we wanted to write songs for corporate worship". He also stated that "As a whole, this album is a little more on the rock side as well". Regarding the title, he noted that "Over the last year I’ve been consumed with the idea that God is so crazy in love with us...
