Out of the forested land, 15.6% of the total land area is heavily forested and 1.6% is covered with orchards or small clusters of trees. Of the agricultural land, 29.4% is used for growing crops and 44.2% is pastures. All the water in the municipality is flowing water.
On 1 January 1978 the former municipalities of Villaranon and Le Saulgy merged into the municipality of Siviriez. In 2004 the former municipalities of Prez-vers-Siviriez, Villaraboud and Chavannes-les-Forts also merged into Siviriez.

Siviriez has an area, , of 20.3 square kilometre. Of this area, 15.1 square kilometre or 74.5% is used for agricultural purposes, while 3.48 square kilometre or 17.2% is forested.
