The Siege of Samarkand was the first battle in the campaigns that Babur, the founder of the Mughal Empire, would fight. Babur was only twelve years old when he was ousted from his capital city of Samarkand by his rival, the Uzbegs. This would lead to two more sieges, unsuccessfully....

to the Uzbeks, Babur came back again when he turned fifteen years old. After seven months of brutal siege, Babur seized the city. A rebellion while he left took both Fergana and Samarkand out of his control.
