Despite rights being acquired for national release by MGM, it failed to become a national hit, spending 5 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100

Chart success in the UK and Europe "created demand not only for the record but for live appearances as well". As the Showstoppers had disbanded, Jerry Ross sent a different group on an entire tour of the UK and Europe as The Show Stoppers, which was a group later known as The Persuaders

After their own tour of Europe, and in the absence of any other hit records, The Showstoppers disbanded finally about 1972.
