As per the latest merit list S.I.M.S. has overtaken Nishtar Medical College in the Punjab medical colleges merit list. It is now third in the list of co-educational institutes. The diabetic management center at SIMS/SHL is one of the best in all of Asia. Its giant building is also the best building in medical schools. SIMS hostels are considered most beautiful hostels among all medical schools in Pakistan.
S.I.M.S. was recognized by the iMed. in 2008 as soon as its first batch passed out.
