Sergio Cresto (USA) (January 19, 1956 – May 2, 1986) was the co-driver of Henri Toivonen at the Lancia Martini team for the 1986 World Rally Championship season. He was also a former co-driver for fellow Lancia employee, the Italian driver Attilio Bettega.
He died as a result of the crash during the eighteenth stage of the Tour de Corse Rally that claimed the lives of both he and Toivonen on May 2, 1986. This very terrible incident immediately caused an announcement that the 1987 Group B season was to be cancelled and the formula banned.
He was born in New York on 19th January 1956.

He was born in New York on 19th January 1956. American subject, he lived in Ospedaletti, near Sanremo. He had a girlfriend. He began to run with a Opel Kadett together Gerbino. In 1979 he was Tonino Tognana’s co-driver with Opel Kadett and with more powerful Fiat 131 Abarth in two years after. In 1981 they arrived 8th in the Italian Championship. In 1982 he was co-driver of another “top driver": Gianfranco Cunico on the Fiat Ritmo 130, getting some good results. The year after he changed driver another time and he came on the end of season figuring three times on the Italian results: with Cinotto was 6th (after the 3rd place at Targa Florio and at Quattro Regioni on 037) with Zanussi was 10th (they arrived 2nd at San Marino Rally with Lancia 037). With Zanussi he was 3rd at the Halkidikis too, a valid race for European Championship, which he disputed the year after with Carlo Capone with Lancia 037 Tre Gazzelle. After a long season full of successes and after a duel with Toivonen and his Porsche, the Italians won the European Championship. After Perissinot’s accident he was bettega’s co-driver for two races valid for the World Championship. In 1985 he ran another time with Zanussi with Lancia and in 1986 a short and wonderful season started with Toivonen with Lancia Delta S4...
