; Wimmer finished 31st in that race. RCR will be fielding the #33 full-time in 2009 with sponsorship from General Mills, who will be leaving the famous #43 Petty Enterprises Dodge at the end of 2008. It was announced recently that the #33 will be driven by Clint Bowyer, who is moving from the #07 Jack Daniels team. The #07 will be driven by Casey Mears, who will be moving to RCR from Hendrick Motorsports #5 team.

In April 2007, Wimmer filed a lawsuit against Bill Davis Racing for $1.2 million dollars. Wimmer says that BDR failed to give him enough notice that he would be fired as the #22 driver, in fact going as far as saying he would be back at the beginning of October 2005 (only to fire him 21 days later). The lawsuit is for what Wimmer would have been paid had he driven the 2006 season for BDR.
