Schumacher College was founded in 1991 in Dartington, Totnes, Devon, UK by Satish Kumar amongst others. It was named after E.F. Schumacher. It is an international centre offering transformative learning for sustainable living, and runs holistic education courses. It is part of the Dartington Hall Trust.
Several distinguished people in the area have taught short courses there, such as David Abram, Patch Adams, Fritjof Capra, Deepak Chopra, Christian de Quincey, Stanislav Grof, Hazel Henderson, James Lovelock, Lynn Margulis, Humberto Maturana, Wolfgang Sachs, Arne Naess, Rupert Sheldrake, Vandana Shiva and many others.
Apart from a yearly programme of one, two or three-week short courses, they also offer an MSc in Holistic Science, in partnership with the University of Plymouth.
