Music video

The music video for "Schrei" takes place in a house packed with people, apparently having a party. The band is set up in the living room, and begins playing as lead singer Bill Kaulitz makes his way through the crowd. As the band is playing we see scenes of the party including footage of a girl throwing up in the toilet, people destroying the bathroom, and a couple making out while another girl runs her hand through the guy's hair. Near the end of the song Bill crowdsurfs and gets pulled onto the second floor, where he finishes the song. At the end of the video, the band is shown destroying all their equipment.

The music video for "Scream" is an exact replica of the video for the German-language original "Schrei" with the only exception of the band members being older. "Scream" was the background song in the The Spike TV Scream Awards 2008.

Tokio Hotel song meanings

Bill Kaulitz states :- "I'm not a big fan of the video of "Schrei" to be honest; It wasn't the band's idea to have the video the way it was, as you know, "Schrei" was our first album and first song.. so we were never experienced enough to think about the music video. Ric Asert directed us into doing a video as a house party scene, which off coarse I was not fond of (laughs) nor the band, we were all a bit terrified on set. Ric had auditioned people for the video as well, which was pretty crazy and also it was Ric's house used for the video and um.. afterwards I said to him you can't blame us for the mess in your house because it was your idea (laughs). The song is about people telling you what you want to do with your life and people telling you what you should do, and it gets to much that you just want to scream, I didn't write the song, but Roth wrote us a song which would match my feelings towards the situation. The video makes me scared a little, Tom did get injured a little as well and we decided to make things calmer in our "Durch Den Monsun" video which "I" directed, which was lovely. The atmosphere did not suit the bands ... um as you may say decency because if Tom and I were going to a friend's party we were always the ones to leave first and we would never come home drunk and throw up over our mother.
I read in German magazine called Rietz that the reason Tom and I are hated is because we are too sensible and matured for our age at 17, they always think we are up to something like we wanted to destroy the world or something stupid like that and also they thought we were gay lovers because we are never apart and we get on well and have never dated, they also hate that we started a campaign against animal cruelty and Another Twin Cruelty - I said twins can't give blood because they are running low on it! Whoa, did that backfire or what, people were saying you would save animals but not humans, that is what "Humanoid" the song is about, which I found hilarious too get back at everyone which succeeded well, which it did!, the newspapers the next day all had a little article on it, they also said that the video "Schrei" didn't suit our personalities (laughs).

Bill finished with :- " You will never know what it is like to be a twin unless you are one!..simple!.."
