Tourism and fishing are the local industries. Exploramer, is an activity complex on the Saint-Laurence River aquatic fauna, where you can see an aquarium offering 21 tanks which contain fish, marine organism, a thematic exhibition about the sea, offshore excursions, and many more cultural events.

On the other side the mountains, the National Park of Gaspésie opens the door to the McGerrigle and Chic-Chocs mountains. They offer a panoramic photographic opportunity for the apex of Mont-Jacques-Cartier, second highest summit in Québec.

Tourism

To welcome the tourists, there is a Youth hostel located right on the sea shore (St-Lawrence River). This inn is the perfect base camp to explore the Gaspésie Park. Now the guests can take advantage of a small spa. Affiliated with this Inn, guests will be given access to Refuges right in the middle of our natural forest or sea shore. The route between refuges will be variable, as several services will be offered such as showers, toilet, and small ovens. An excellent activity is to explore the forest and mountains using snowshoe, snowmobile or walking, a 100 % adventure in open air.

This area is true paradise for natural sites enthusiasts; as cross-country skiing, Telemarkski, pedestrian or equestrian rides, paraglide, sea kayak, goes fishing in the river and off the snowmobile giving access to mark out paths touring the Gaspésie area. Moose can be found in this park since the livestock is high as we find the caribou’s herds of in the South of the Saint Lawrence River.

A new activity has risen in Gaspésie: D'Arbre en Arbre (tree to tree) it is a guest’s adventure at the top of trees, made of spectacular sequence of challenges. An emotional “circuit” one might say, following the forest winds. “Challengers” are invited to explore the beauty and the location diversity.
