Overview

Sacco is known as La Città della Buona Fortuna (the lucky town), because many of its inhabitants have gone on to accomplish many great things . Vincenzo Collodi, who was born in the town in the early twentieth century, moved to Florence and invented a fish-hook that revolutionized the fishing industry. Also, Sacco is the first town of all the neighboring towns to have first installed an indoor bathroom, as opposed to the "outhouses" that were prevalent until the late 20th century.
