Etymology and linguistic definitions

Sabzi is a Persian (the language which is spoken with slight variations and dialects among all middle eastern Aryan sub branch tribes) word derived from the root word "sabz", pronunced (Sab'Z), which means green. The "i" added to Persian color names will imply a lot of something which has that specific color. The word "sabzi" just like many Persain words has different meanings in different contexts.

Cuisine

In the Iranian vast culinary culture generally when spoken of "sabzi", it is referred to a few specific types of hand grown vegetables which are consumed mainly in washed, fresh and cut form or in cooked, broiled or fried etc. form with/in each special dish or meal.
