. A third building, Newhouse III, was dedicated on September 19, 2007 by Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. The $31.6 million modern structure features six-foot high letters from the First Amendment etched on its curving glass windows.

The Newhouse School is considered one of the most prestigious schools of communications by numerous ranking organizations, including US News & World Reports and the Gourman Report, which ranked Newhouse in a tie for second with Northwestern for Journalism and Mass Communications. It is known for its broadcast journalism, television, newspaper, and public relations programs. The school also has strong programs in media studies, television/radio/film, advertising, magazine journalism, photography, arts journalism, new media, media management, and public diplomacy. Graduates of Newhouse have gone on to positions with major networks and news agencies.
