Russell D. Moore

Russell D. Moore is Dean of the School of Theology and Senior Vice President for Academic Administration at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is also a pastor, author of nine books and numerous articles, as well as a teacher, and a theologian.

Russell D. Moore was born and reared in Mississippi

. Early in his career, he was an aide to U.S. Congressman Gene Taylor. After feeling called to full-time church ministry, Dr. Moore began regularly preaching and teaching the Bible. He was a youth pastor at Woolmarket Baptist Church and Bay Vista Baptist Church in Biloxi, MS. Moore then went on to complete his education. He received a B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi, an M.Div. from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary
