Gutierrez began acting as a teen actress in the 1980s, under Regal Films. She became part of German Moreno's That's Entertainment in the early 1990s, before becoming a beauty queen in 1993.

1990 - Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation's Award for "Most Promising Teenage Actress"
She founded Roof A Child Foundation Inc., for homeless children with Lily Y. Monteverde and GMA 7 president Menardo R. Jimenez among its board of trustees.
