History

Construction Rocklands House began in 1902, for the brickmaker William Barrow. Many of the houses built in this area at this time were built by rich Leicester businessmen, but Rocklands was one of the first. Some time after its construction, the chimney stacks were removed.

It was acquired by the University after World War II

, and incorporated into the Botanic Gardens
