In the dream the robots of the universe were being led by a human. The first Two Laws of Robotics did not apply and only partially the Third Law, that a robot "must protect itself from harm." Elvex explain that he is the human in the dream. When Dr. Calvin asks Elvex what happens next in his dream, Elvex explains that he shouts, "Let my people go!!" Upon hearing the story Dr. Calvin immediately destroyed the robot since its "dreams" indicated to her that the Three laws
