Controversies

Allen's companies have been reported more than 70 times to the site Ripoff Report to charge credit cards without having ordered anything making difficult contact them to cancel and refusing to cancel
They aggressively market their products with practices that push the boundaries of what is legally allowed and questionably ethical.

Allen's companies, Multiple Stream, Enlightened Millionaire Institute, and Enlightened Wealth Institute, are also extremely aggressive telemarketers that often disregard Do Not Call laws and use automated telephone dialing systems to find prospective customers for their "get rich quick with little money" real estate seminars. Most of their telemarketing calls originate from Provo, Utah under the name of Multiple Stream and phone number (801) 852-8700 or (801) 852-8702.

Repeated complaints to the FCC and donotcall.gov by frustrated recipients of these telemarketing calls often go unprosecuted.

Robert G. Allen in the past gained some of his most influential testimonials recruiting and mentoring a large number of random volunteers for free and teaching them how to become rich quickly.
Of all the people he recruited, he only reported the ones who got the best results, ignoring those who failed miserably. Presenting the very best while ignoring the others created the impression that anyone could achieve top-notch results using his programs when, instead, most of the people that he personally mentored obtained only modest results.
