Robert C. Allen (born 1947) is Professor of Economic History at Oxford University and a fellow
of Nuffield College
.
He obtained his BA at Carleton College
in 1969 and his PhD at Harvard University
in 1975. His research interests are economic history, technological change and public policy.
He has been awarded the Ranki Prize of the Economic History Association
for his 1992 and 2003 works (see below).
