of the auditorium is 1,040. It is also the location of many largest first year Dalhousie classes such as psychology and biology. The second largest venue is the James Dunn Theatre.

The striking modern architecture was done by C. A. E. Fowler & Company (Charles Fowler) of Halifax, with significant contributions by Japanese educator Junji Mikawa, who worked in that architecture office at the time.
