As the band members were in L.A. at the time to record The King of Limbs (one of whose songs, "Lotus Flower," received its live band debut in the concert) and had not planned to tour, they did not have all their usual equipment, and they performed without a light show, also using fewer instruments. In a modestly sized theatre, without decor, the concert was the most intimate the band had played in years.

In addition to the stripped-down performance, the concert was unique for its ticketing system. In order to generate as many funds as possible for the NGO's work, Radiohead auctioned all tickets, bringing over half a million dollars in one night to the charity. With high average ticket prices, many celebrities such as Justin Timberlake

 were reported to have attended the concert, and less wealthy fans were unable to see it until the the release of the live video. The footage was shot by 14 members of the audience, who over the next year collaborated on editing. The full version was made available for download in DVD quality and also uploaded to YouTube

 on Christmas Eve, 2010. The band have given their support to the release. Although the video is freely available, in collaboration with the band and Oxfam, the filmmakers included a link to make it easy for downloaders to contribute via a "pay what you want" option to reconstruction and health efforts in Haiti.
