The club Unia Racibórz was founded back on 27 April 1946 as Plan Raciborz KS and has undergone several name changes, June 1949 to November 1949 it was named ZKS Raciborz Chemist, ZKS Union Raciborz until 18 March 1957, Union Raciborz KS up to the 1997-98 season before adopting the current name RTP Union Raciborz. The club was only having a men's football team until 2001, when the women started training, which was registered for league play in the 2002-03 season.

In January 2008 after discrepancies over the use of finances the men's section split from RPT Unia and now plays as KP Unia Racibórz in the 5th tier leagues of Poland. Thus RTP Unia Racibórz is a pure women's football club today.

In 2006-07 the club gained promotion into Ekstraliga Kobiet
