Fourteen years after being named National Champs, Ward Lambert announced his resignation on January 23, 1946. That same year and the year following under new head coach Mel Taube, Purdue would win both meetings against coach John Wooden's Indiana State team. After receiving major water damage from storms in the spring of 2011, Mackey Arena's court had to be replaced a year earlier than planned. The new court features the new Big Ten Logo and two tones, with a light grain wood covering a majority of the floor with the inside of the three point lines consisting of a darker tone. The center piece train logo is replaced with the "P" logo and under the "Keady Court" logos facing both sides will be an enlarged signature of Gene Keady.
