The Proceedings of the British Academy is a peer-reviewed
academic journal
. The publication consists of conference proceedings and lectures, and several of the individual volumes have their own unique titles. Articles from volume 51 onwards are available as PDF
files for members, with the first page of every article and a select number of articles available at no cost to all. The Proceedings of the British Academy also publishes memoirs of the lives and achievements of deceased Fellows of the Academy. Since 1992 the series has included thematic volumes stemming from symposia specially convened to address particular subjects, as well as annual volumes of lectures given at the Academy. The journal is published on behalf of the British Academy
