In 1423, the elected representatives of Paštrović community signed the treaty with Republic of Venice
and became a part of Venetian state. In that treaty, Paštrovići were guaranteed the autonomy, and free trade within the borders of Venetian state, without paying the customs or any other taxes. In return, Paštrovići agreed to join the Venetian army, for fighting in the nearby counties of Skadar and Kotor.
Paštrovići were the part of Republic of Venice until the fall of Venice in 1797.
