n commercial television station operated by the multi-media company PRO PLUS d.o.o.

It is a TV channel with the highest ratings in Slovenia (Source: AGB Nielsen Media Research, year 2011), and at the same time the most popular and trustworthy (Trusted Brand 2009, 2010, 2011). Since 1 December 2010 POP TV programming has been available in the digital (DVB-T) technique. Transmission is a part of the first national digital multiplex called multiplex A.

History

POP TV started broadcasting on December, 15 1995. Its programs have included:

In Viktors 2009 POP TV received two Viktors (Viktor of popularity for entertaining show Can U Dig It?! In the 2008 awards the station received five golden statues: 24UR (Viktor for News TV program), Can U Dig It?! (As ti tud not padu?!) At the international festival PROMAX, which is an award for promoters and advertisers in the electronic media, POP TV has received five awards for its promotional achievements. Two in Athens in April 2005: Gold medal in the category Best News Promo« for the promotional spot for the show Confirmed! and gold medal in the category Never Broadcast Promo for the film Minority Report. POP TV received medals at the international festival in 2002: Gold medal in the category Best Drama Promo for the promotional spot for the series Profiler, in 2001 silver medal in the category Best Quiz Promo for the promo for Millionaire and in 2000 gold medal for the best promotional spot for the film In the Line of Fire.

For the third year in a row POP TV was awarded the Trusted Brand title (2009, 2010, 2011) among TV stations, as the most trustworthy and popular brand among consumers.

News programs

POP TV has news during the entire day with the programs 24UR at One (every working day at 1pm), 24UR In the Afternoon, 24UR and 24UR at Night. Since March 17, 2009 there is also a weather forecast 24UR Weather at five minutes to seven in the evening, every Saturday Vizita and on Sundays TV Club (TV Klub). Viewers are offered weekly investigative news show Confirmed! on Tuesdays, sitcom It’s Nice to be a Neighbour on Mondays and cooking show Love Through the Stomach on Sundays. In addition to domestic programs, the station offers foreign production (series, telenovels, films) and during weekends cartoons for children (MOJ MOJ). In 2011 POP TV started a new season of reality show The Farm (Kmetija), new season of game show Minute to Win it (Minuta do zmage) and a new local production series Trdoglavci.
