, Chandrasekaran entered politics in 1982, when he was elected to the Lindula Urban Council. He was arrested in 1993 under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. In 1994, he formed the Up-Country People's Front

Chandrasekaran died of a heart attack on 1 January 2010, aged 52. His death occurred in Colombo
