Geography

Orpund has an area, , of 3.96 square kilometres (1.5 sq mi). Of this area, 1.55 km² (0.598458345818429 sq mi) or 39.1% is used for agricultural purposes, while 1.48 km² (0.571431194716952 sq mi) or 37.4% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 0.82 km² (0.316603770045879 sq mi) or 20.7% is settled (buildings or roads), 0.09 km² (22.2 acre) or 2.3% is either rivers or lakes and 0.01 km² (2.5 acre) or 0.3% is unproductive land.

Of the built up area, industrial buildings made up 1.8% of the total area while housing and buildings made up 14.9% and transportation infrastructure made up 3.0%. Out of the forested land, all of the forested land area is covered with heavy forests. Of the agricultural land, 30.6% is used for growing crops and 7.1% is pastures, while 1.5% is used for orchards or vine crops. All the water in the municipality is in rivers and streams.
