Omnibus is also the name of a software package used for television station control and automation. Brookside was the first soap to have an Omnibus edition. The first omnibus edition for Brookside was established in 1991 and continued until the series ended in 2003. EastEnders is the first soap opera to have an omnibus edition from the 1980s onwards, but the term was not used until the 1990s.
