History

The painting was stolen in 1996 by an amateur Roma thief. During that situation, it was badly damaged, and it was recovered in afwul condition, requiring a year of restoration. After the Renoir was stolen, entire foreign art collection was moved to museum depot, in order to protect collection until new and better protection system is installed.
