Format

The league comprises 25 teams separated into in three conferences. Teams play a minimum 14 game league schedule before playoffs. Note: Associate Members are not eligible for NECHA Regular Season Champion or NECHA Playoffs.

Note: Boston College, Northeastern University, Norwich University, Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute, Sacred Heart University, University of Connecticut, University of Maine, University of Massachusetts, and University of Vermont have varsity hockey programs at NCAA Division I level. Tufts University and Westfield State College host varsity hockey at the NCAA Division III.
