, and the commander of Judah and Samaria division. He was born in 1964. Between 1984 and 1998 he was assigned to various positions in an IDF elite unit. In 1998 he was appointed as commander of the elite unit.

In 2001 he began working as a research associate in Washington DC. In 2003 he was appointed as commander of the IDF Hitzey HaEsh (Fire Arrows) division and in 2005 he was appointed as commander of the Etzyon Regional Brigade in the IDF Central Command.

In 2007 he was appointed as Head of the Israel Defense Intelligence Operations Division.

Brig. Gen. Alon has a combined BSc in Physics and Material Engineering from Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in Haifa
