An Unescapable Evil...
The girls route home led them off the main road, along the edge of the forest. Clumps of the bushes lined the path, draped in shadow, their odd shapes ominous. Suddenly Miranda felt Elinor grab her arm.
'Wait! Did you hear something?'
The air was strangely still, 'It's not that much further to your house. I'm sure that we'll be fine.' Miranda's voice was pitched.
Then one of the black shadows alongside the path shifted and a black shape rose up behind the bushes. Miranda froze. She was vaguely aware that beside her, Elinor was screaming.
