The NCC was charged with the responsibility of regulating the supply of telecommunications services and facilities, promoting competition, and setting performance standards for telephone services in Nigeria.
The commission is headed by a board of nine commissioners, composed of the Chairman, the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, two Executive Officers, and five non-executive commissioners.
There are five directorates, fourteen departments, and five units.
