History

Formed in 1999, Nesian Mystik united their diverse cultural backgrounds of Polynesia in bringing together Maori, Tongan, Samoan, Cook Island and English ancestry, becoming one of the biggest names in music. Nesian Mystik was formed in the music room of Auckland's Western Springs College

Polysaturated (2002 – 2003)

Beginning with the Gold-selling Top Ten debut single "Nesian Style" at the end of 2001, their next single, "It's On", released in March 2002 followed as another Gold-selling radio hit. "It's On" peaked at #2 in the middle of 2002 in the New Zealand singles chart. In November 2002, the group released their debut album Polysaturated.

Polysaturated went straight to #1 and was certified Gold by the end of its first week of sales and out sold every superstar out there during the holiday season. By the end of June 2003, the album was still in the national top 10 and was certified Four times Platinum.

Their third single release "For The People
For the People
For The People is the debut album from Hip Hop collective Boot Camp Clik, consisting of Buckshot from Black Moon, Cocoa Brovaz, formerly known as Smif-N-Wessun, Heltah Skeltah and O.G.C. The crew officially organized in 1995, with all eight members appearing on the song "Cession At Da Doghillee"...

" followed the album release just before Christmas 2003 and gave Nesian Mystik a hat-trick of three Top 10 singles and became their third consecutive Gold selling single. In an unprecedented achievement, the group's fourth single "Unity" also achieved Top Ten. Their fifth single, "Brothaz" failed to do as well and charted at #12.

Freshmen (2005 – 2006)

November 2005 saw the return of Nesian Mystik to the New Zealand music scene with the Top Ten single "What's Next?" followed by "If It's Cool

" another Top Ten and then May 2006 saw the release of Nesian Mystik's long-awaited and highly anticipated second album "Freshmen" debuting at #8 in the N.Z Top Ten album charts and was certified Gold in the first week of release. Nesian Mystik describe "Freshmen" as a feel good album, drawing influences from Old Skool, Soul, Funk, R"N"B and Hip Hop while upping the production sophistication and adding new flavas to the mix. "Robin Hood Heroes" and "So Good" were the 3rd & 4th radio released songs from "Freshmen"

Elevator Musiq (2008 – 2009)

The latest installment from Nesian Mystik was released 27 October 2008 entitled "Elevator Musiq". The name, a play on words stemming from the idea that an artist/musician has "made it!" if their music is played or heard in an elevator. The flip side to the name reflects this groups drive to continually elevate their music and style to the next level.

This album has 4 singles released, which 3 are top 10's so far, the first being the number one smash hit "Nesian 101

" which is currently certified Platinum, followed by "Dancefloor" (which peaked at #6), then the radio smash hit"Mr Mista" feat. Che Fu, Cydel and Kimbra which peaked at #3 and also certified Gold. The latest and final single released is "R.S.V.P." feat. PNC, which became their 10th Top 10 single in New Zealand, making the group the first New Zealand artist to have ten top ten singles.

99 A.D. (2009 – Present)

Nesian Mystik released their fourth album on Monday, 26 July 2010 titled, 99 A.D., from which the first single, 'Sacrifice', was released in late 2009. They recently released a second single from the album titled "Sun Goes Down". The track has peaked at number three on the New Zealand chart and has been a major hit on Urban Radio stations within the country. "No. 1" was the third single to be released from the album.

End of Nesian Mystik (2011)
