History
The organization was founded in July 1904 in St. Louis, Missouri, as the Catholic Educational Association (CEA). In 1927, it received its current name, and in 1929, its headquarters moved to Washington, D.C. In 2004, the association celebrated the 100th anniversary of its founding.
