. In early 1981, on the campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India students Rajendra S. Pawar and Vijay K. Thadani found themselves sharing the same dorm room. After graduating from IIT, Pawar and Thadani developed NIIT. During 1982 it set up educational centers in Mumbai, Delhi; later it spread to southern part of India, especially Bangalore. In the following years it began corporate training programs. It claims to be ranked among top 20 IT training institutions and graded among India's most trusted service brands.
