, 28-year-old Grinkov did not attempt a planned lift; instead he lowered himself to the ice. He had suffered a heart attack. Grinkov was pronounced dead at 12:28 p.m. Gordeeva and Grinkov had been paired together for thirteen years and married for four when Grinkov died.
